Day 10: Where the hell is my appetite?!

Saturday 10th September 2016

Day 10 really has not gone gone to plan at all. Woke up with no appetite and even walking around ASDA doing the shopping didn’t inspire me. It wasn’t until 3:30pm that my stomach decided to make itself known. But after that it just seem to be a constant beggar for food.

Is the lack of appetite sometimes due to the diet or is it my body kicking up a fuss? I’d love to know because its really starting to get annoying.

Shopping

Today we went to ASDA. Busy was an understatement.

I was really looking forward to this weirdly enough but it was a little bit too busy for me. Didn’t help my lack of appetite was getting me down.

So In my head I thought the shopping would come to a really nice amount again. Last time it was just over £60. I was expecting a bit more as we had to buy all the cleaning products etc this time around but not £109 in total. In hindsight the fact that I’m trying to go fully on the Vegetarian side of things and the other half is doing slimming world doesn’t help with cost.

We visited the McDonalds that is right by the Supermarket to get Teddy a Happy Meal for lunch as a treat. Didn’t order anything and avoided the meat. Another mini-victory. My appetite wasn’t that great anyways.

Late Lunch – Someone fix my appetite!

Needed something quick before my stomach collapsed on itself. I’d resisted the lure of McDonalds after our ASDA shop. But all of a sudden I was hungry. And needed to consume something quickly.

ASDA Chosen By You Choco Balls Cereal

ASDA Chosen By You Choco Balls Cereal

This cereal is okay I guess – probably my least favorite of the 3 for £3 we bought. They stay really really hard so eating them is a bit of a chore. You don’t get that satisfying level of ‘soggy’ but you can’t argue with the taste.

Dinner No.1

I love having dinner together as a family. We had a film on as well so it was a good bonding moment. There’s something satisfying about sharing food and all eating the same that I just can’t explain.

Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza Funghi with Salad, Cous Cous, Garlic Bread & BBQ Pasta

I love these pizzas and am getting used to the idea that I don’t have to eat it all. Cous Cous was a bit hit and miss – I didn’t mind it but the rest of the team didn’t seem impressed. Sweet chilli on Spring Onion and Lettuce was an inspired choice however. One thing I will say is the food I’ve been eating has never once put me off this Challenge.

I mentioned we were watching a film, it was the new Jungle Book remake. For a brief review read here.

Dinner No.2

Think I’m In catch up mode now. 10pm came along and I decided I was that hungry. Rather than have a massive ‘Snaccident’ I went for something a bit more filling.

ASDA Steam Bags Mushroom Risotto

ASDA Steam Bags Mushroom Risotto

I had picked up these bad boys in ASDA today. Never tried it before but super quick Risotto is an idea I can get behind. Mighty impressed with how this came out and how it tasted. Whoever had this idea and brought the product to the table needs a raise!

For a quick ‘Meat Free’ hit this was top notch. I think I’m going to have to think about getting these into sole lunches maybe 🙂

10/10 would devour late at night again!

30 Meals down – 60 to go!!!
